This medicine easies the symptoms, and helps your body to fight the virus. However, Valacyclovir will not heal the virus. This is an antiviral drug that relieves your symptoms and stimulates the recovering. Your health care professional may also prescribe this medicine for other health states.
Keep Valtrex safe from heat, moisture, and light. Store this product at room temperature. Keep this product out of the reach of children. Keep safe from pets.
Contact your health care provider immediately in case of the following side effects: pain in your lower back; easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness; confusion, agitation, aggression, hallucinations, trouble concentrating; seizure (convulsions); pale or yellowed skin, dark coloured urine, fever; urinating less than usual or not at all; swelling, weight gain, feeling short of breath; problems with speech or vision; drowsiness, mood changes, increased thirst, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting; feeling shaky or unsteady. You should also immediately contact your doctor in case of an allergy (difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat).
Valtrex Information
Valtrex will not prevent the spread of genital herpes. Valtrex will not treat a viral infection such as the common cold or flu.
You should start taking this medicine right after the first symptoms of the virus have occurred. They may include tingling, blisters, and burning. If you do not start the therapy right away, the preparation may be less effective.
This virus may be transferred to the baby during the childbirth. If the mother is infected, virus should be treated in order to prevent the spread!
Make sure you do not spread the virus. Avoid sexual activities or use condoms. The infected areas should not be touched by others. They may get infected. Do not touch the affected area. You should wash your hands frequently.
Make sure to inform your health care provider in case you have an allergy to Valacyclovir or acyclovir (Zovirax).
Take your dose with water. You may take this medicine with or without food. Drink plenty of water while you are treating with Valacyclovir to let your kidneys work properly.
Do not discontinue the treatment even if you notice improvement. Complete the prescribed therapy.

The following side effects do not usually need to be reported immediately, but talk to your health care provider if they become continuous or bothersome: mild skin rash; headache, dizziness, tired feeling; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain; stuffy nose, sore throat; menstrual pain; joint pain.
