What is Lamisil?

Lamisil is an approved medication used as an antifungal treatment. It deals with infections caused by fungi that affect toenails or fingernails. Besides, it is prescribed for children over 4 years old to cure the scalp hair follicles also caused by fungi. Additionally, the medication can be taken in cases not mentioned in the information leaflet, though only after doctors recommendation


Precautions and Contraindications

Before taking Lamisil, consult your healthcare provider and check if the drug is safe in your case and will not cause any side effects. You should not start the treatment if you are allergic to the active ingredient of Lamisil - Terbinafine. Besides, it is not recommended to take the drug if you have:

Take one pill with a glass of water. The medication is commonly taken for around 6-12 weeks, depending on the health condition and severity of the problem. Get a full treatment course, even though the symptoms may disappear within a few first drug intakes.

If you have missed any Lamisil pill, take it right as you remember. However, skip it once the next scheduled dose is soon to be taken. Never double the medication dose, as it can cause overuse with all its devastating side effects.

Drug Interactions

Before taking the medication inform your healthcare specialist about all the medicines you are taking to prevent negative drug interactions. Lamisil should not be taken with:

- Antidepressants;
- Blood pressure or heart medications;

Side Effects
